No Limit

No Limit by Pete Hautman is about a 15 year old teenager named Dennis Doyle. He has his own lawn mowing business to make money for himself. One day his weed whacker gets broken and he goes to the mall to buy a new one with his friend Murky. After he buys it one of Murky’s friends invites them to play poker over to his house to gamble. At first he is unsure but after a couple rounds he starts to get good. He couldn't lose. After the poker game was over Dennis realized that he can make money a lot quicker gambling then from his lawn mowing business. He gives his lawn mowing business to Murky and gambles for his money. After a couple days Dennis gets addicted to gambling and can’t stop. Gambling went from a onetime thing to a hobby. It became an everyday thing for him to gamble. He starts to go to a casino to gamble. Everything seems to be going well but after Dennis becomes rich, he has no friends. He later learns about to owner of the casino who won it from gambling from the old owner. Later own the owner learns about Dennis and gambles with him. The owner puts the casino on the line with $4,000 dollars. It turned out he was bluffing and the 15 year old won the casino. In the end Dennis, the new owner of the casino owns one of the biggest casinos in town with no friends and still gambled daily.

  1. I really enjoyed how you summarized the book, i think it sounds very interesting. I also enjoyed how you formatted it, so its shows how a small problem became into a bigger one. Good Job!!
